Just added the info:
In Au, all malls close at 5pm except Thursday.Very boring.Hv chance to get more time coz of less working time. A lot of lebanon Indian migrants & mixed migrant races. No security after 5:30Pm for ladies. No convenient transportation like Singapore. Without car, you cannot work/stay late outside like Singapore. Taxi very expensive. Street Robbers can appear at any time. Your car will be intruded by anybody. The brand new car will cost Auzi $23000 at least. IT interviews in AU are more difficult than in SG. Meal cost AU$ 10 or 11 at least without drink cost $2.5. Definitely gain weight if stingy to leave food at food canteen. Cannot hire apartment easily if you have no previous record of apartment hire. Weekly paid system for apt hire and will cost AU$1000 at least if you have nobody to share.30% Tax for your income. What else..?:D

Not sure how anyone can pay off the mortgage loan within a few years in the West compared to Asian countries. Recent happenings on subprime mortgage still a reality of what's happening there. It will take a some time for market forces to adjust. We have to thank GOD if they don't upset the rest of the World's economy as Asia seems to be the one who is in surplus at this point in time.

Just a suggestion, do look around the Burmese community in Singapore to know the majority living standard of the families. Just as you have described Burmese families in th West, it's the same senario here except the fact that most live in flats/condos instead of landed properties and most own private mode of transport. As for having a car, even millionaires are opting to take MRT these days due to convenience of pubilc transport system in Singapore unlike other big countries. I came across in papers about a billionarie giving up his American passport to take up the red passport due to heavy taxation in that country. These are some factors which needs some consideration.

Hi Ko Phyo Wai Kyaw,

Very useful blog.May i ask how much ausi migration fee did u pay to OCSC ?
Hope u could share with me coz i am currently looking for the agent.
Have been to NTrust and quote too high.Thank you.

For me, what you have thought was correct. I'm living with family in Singapore and earn about S$3000.00 a month and after settling all bills, CPF and flat rental, the balance cash is almost zero. To save some extra cash, I use to work a lot overtime and feel unconfortable with that since I need to spend with family more. However, it is impossible with this current situation. I think I'm still lucky that I still can work overtime since some company reduced workforce. I have planned to migrate AUS may be in 3 years time. Your post is atleast something useful for me. Thanks for it but I won't use agent since I don't have exta cash to spend for it.
Once again, thanks a lot.

Hi bro,
I wanna know that how much will it cost for agent fees of OCSC to apply AU PR?
and do i need to take the company director signature or can i just put the company address in the employment letter?
cox i'm afraid that the recent company will take action on that and give fire letter to me.
TQ

Bro, sorry for late reply. The cost will be around 3000-3500 SGD for agent fee. If you have no time to read booklets and no idea how to do some little things and you've saved extra money, I think this amount is worth to pay. You can also ask other companies and evaluate the amount. Some companies will charge consultation fee, but I didn't go that sort of companies.

Yes, you need company director or HR or your manager signature to approve that you are working there.
When I asked to my boss, my heart almost jump out. I needed to ask TWO times, because the first one is wrong format. I didn't know how to hide my face infront of him. So, you better write very well and make very sure everything before you ask for your boss's sign.

Australia government will call to your company (not immediately, after many months) and inquiring that you are working there. They will even call you using your office phone number and ask you detail salary, when you started work, what is your position blah blah...

The format will be: http://phyowaikyaw.blogspot.com/2007/10/singapore-australia.html

But if you use agent, agent will provide you all formats and guide you how to write.

Good Luck!!!
